Silo is a great big ambient reverb fermentation device, or something to that effect. In short, it's a reverb with modulation and a preamp/distortion.
Silo began its life as a Reverberation Machine, a Belton-brick based digital reverb that effectively uses several PT2399 delay chips cascaded together to create a textured, spring-like reverb. Lots and lots of tweaks and new features later and you have Silo.
So for the controls, there are 3 footswitches, 2 toggle switches, and 10 knobs. Let's start with the footswitches.
-On the right we have bypass. True bypass soft switching via Demedash Effects' Incandenza Relay bypass circuit.
-In the middle we have the momentary Feedback switch, with the amount of feedback controlled by the knob directly above. Holding this switch will provide longer decay time, or waves of building noise if you crank the knob up.
-On the left is the Modulation switch. This latching switch turns on the modulation. Simple as that.
Now for the knobs. Unlabelled of course because idk I felt like it.
-Volume: it's a volume control
-Filter: cuts low end off your dry signal to sink it further back into the mix
-Gain: opamp distortion post-blend, affects wet and dry signal together
-Wet gain: pre-verb distortion, boosts wet signal volume to a point, after said point will push it into clipping
-Blend: adds reverb to your dry signal
-Decay: adjusts decay time of reverb
-Feedback: adjusts feedback amount, activated by footswitch
-Depth: adjusts depth of modulation (modulation affects wet signal only)
-Shape: sweeps between square and sine wave modulation
-Rate: adjust rate of modulation
OKAY JUST THE TOGGLE SWITCHES NOW!
-the left toggle switch controls the master gain clipping. Up for asym. clipping, Middle for no diodes (can get very loud), or Down for symmetrical clipping.
-the right toggle switch is a voicing filter for the wet signal. Up is "bright", Down is "full".
AND THAT'S IT! SIMPLE RIGHT??
I'll include a manual, don't worry.
You'll be okay.
Silo is here for you now.
